US ISM Survey Better Than Expected

The Institute of Supply Management Survey, a measure of US manufacturing activity came in better than expected today at 48.6 for the month of March.  Despite the figure illustrating a contraction in manufacturing activity, US equities were supported by the fact that it was a better than expected outcome.  The figure helped to ignite risk appetite in the marketplace, underpinning the USD in the process as money flowed back into US equities.
